TO BECOME A CHRIST-FOLLOWER

This doesn’t require us to close our minds but to use them more effectively. It is like using any tool. It requires that we understand its strengths and limitations, like using a hammer. While the hammer is good for striking, it will not screw a screw or saw a log.

A well seasoned mind can discern between what it knows and does not know. Therefore, it knows when to call in the expert surgeon or repairman. It realizes that it cannot see into heaven or hell. Therefore, the clear-headed know they must consult a trustworthy Source for this awareness.

Therefore, we should be hesitant to lean upon our own understanding and to apply this self-skepticism to find a more reliable resting-place of cognitive clarity and peace.

I have found this in the Words of my Savior and rely upon His Spirit to make them clear to me.
