One voice for the Biologos Foundation, which has been
funded to proselytize the churches in favor of evolution, charged:

“Remember, anyone who insists that the Bible
teaches that there must have been a global flood insists that the Bible is
unreliable, because we know from looking at the creation itself, which speaks
of God's attributes (Rom. 1:20) that there was unequivocally never a global
flood.”
I responded that, “This reveals a lot about your faith. You
claim that the Bible is wrong about the worldwide Noahic flood simply because
this event does not accord with the modern scientific consensus. By doing this
both you and Biologos demonstrate that you regard the conclusions of the
consensus as more reliable than Scripture. Well, if scientists are more
reliable than the Bible, then psychologists and historians must also be, unless
you are reserving godhood for scientists alone. In any case, why even bother
with the Bible?
However, Scripture will not allow you to do this. It alone must be preeminent over every other aspirant to the truth:
However, Scripture will not allow you to do this. It alone must be preeminent over every other aspirant to the truth:
·
Isaiah 8:19-20 And when they say to you,
“Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not
a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the
living? To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according
to this word, it is because they have no dawn.
Israel’s entire experience was to be graded by their
adherence to the Word of God:
·
Deuteronomy 8:1-3 “The whole commandment that I
command you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply,
and go in and possess the land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers. And
you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has led you these forty
years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was
in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled
you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did
your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread
alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Scripture was even to take precedence over miraculous
fulfillments:
·
Deuteronomy 13:1-4 “If a prophet or a dreamer of
dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or
wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other
gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen
to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God
is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart
and with all your soul. You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him and
keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast
to him.
How ironic and misleading! You are indicting us for holding
that “anyone who insists that the Bible teaches that there must have been a
global flood insists that the Bible is unreliable!” Instead, it is you and
Biologos who consistently charge that the Bible is unreliable when it doesn’t
agree with the consensus of your scientists.”
