A PLEA TO AN ANTI-SEMITE

As I Jew and even more so as a Christian, I have long been disturbed that my people have continued in their rebellion against their God and have often been involved in Leftwing causes. As such, they have also been an offense even to many Israelis and conservative Jews, such as me.

However, anti-Semitism is no answer. To indict an entire people group is also an indictment against justice and against the principles that had once made our nation great.

Even more important, it is an indictment against Jesus and His Apostles, all of whom had been Jewish. It is also an indictment of the love of their God who has an enduring purpose of for them, as the Apostle Paul has affirmed, according to the Prophets of Israel:

·       Romans 11:15-16: For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will [the Jewish] acceptance mean but life from the dead? If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump [of Israel], and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

·       Romans 11:25-29 Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written…As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election [God’s plan for the Jews], they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Therefore, to hate the Jews is to also hate their God who still loves them. Please, therefore, confess your sin before Christ and seek to love Jesus in a Biblical way. He will forgive your sins and give you His peace. I pray that you might be as I am, a servant our Messiah, who seeks to spread His love and wisdom.
