Freedom of thought, belief, speech and religion are no
longer acceptable unless it’s the freedom to believe the religion of political
correctness (PC). If you do not believe in PC and walk according to its
dictates, you are no longer acceptable. Instead, you become an object of hatred
and vilification. This has become the fate of VP Mike Pence’s wife:
·
Over the past few days, publications including
The Washington Post and CNN have carried pieces criticizing Second Lady Karen
Pence’s decision to teach at Immanuel Christian School of Springfield,
Virginia.
·
At issue was their “parent agreement,” which
among other things prohibited students and their families from engaging in
conduct that is counter to “the biblical lifestyle the school teaches.”
·
“This includes, but is not limited to
contumacious behavior, divisive conduct, and participating in, supporting, or
condoning sexual immorality, homosexual activity or bi-sexual activity,
promoting such practices, or being unable to support the moral principles of
the school…” https://www.christianpost.com/news/pence-defends-wife-amid-media-attack-on-her-teaching-at-christian-school.html
The issue is far greater than a mere “parent agreement.” It
is about the freedom to be you, whether you are an institution or an individual.
It is about the safety and the freedom from threat to live your life according
to your moral compass. It is not about gay or transgender rights. It’s about the
value of diversity and of feeling protected and respected, even when you don’t
vote and speak the same as your neighbor. It’s about having the same legal
protection as others, whether we are democrats, republicans, or greens. It’s
also about feeling that this is also our country.
If this Christian school had demanded the right to reeducate
all of their political and sexual opponents and to compel them to surrender
their beliefs, I could better understand the media’s outrage. This would have
been a betrayal of everything that this country had been about and had once
made it so successful – the source of hope for the oppressed of this world.
However, this is exactly what is being done to Christians
who hold to a traditional understanding of family, marriage, and sexuality. The
elite forces of PC marshalled against our traditional values has reached such
an invasive and repressive level of influence that our universities are
producing PC clones, Christian businesses are being shut down, academics are
being denied tenure, and employment is denied when it is found that the
candidate doesn’t share PC.
Where are the voices of those who have profited by our various
freedoms? For the most part, their minds have either been co-opted by the Matrix
or they are huddling in silence, trying to protect their jobs. Meanwhile,
others are favored by PC, which aligns itself with their own political beliefs.
However, eventually the freedom denied to one will become a
freedom and a protection denied to all. To deny these protections to our
adversaries is to also jettison our own safety net. Pastor Martin Niemoller had once shut his ears
to the drum beats of National Socialism as it began to engulf he German people.
He later confessed:
·
First the Nazis went after the Jews, but I was
not a Jew so I did not object. Then they went after the trade-unionists, but I
was not a trade-unionist so I did not object. Then they came after me, and
there was no one left to object.
Niemoller was eventually thrown into a National Socialist
death camp.
