Does Isaiah 42:1-9 prophesy about Muhammed as some Muslim
apologists claim? Let’s take a look. I will lay out sections of this prophecy to
compare them with the life of Muhammed and the teachings of the Quran to see if
they line up.
Isaiah 42:1 Behold my
servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my
Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations.
Has Muhammed brought forth justice? Terrorism has long been
dominated by those who use the teachings of Muhammed to scream “Allahu Akbar”
as they murder all in their way towards world conquest or any who simply criticize
Muhammed, as the Hadiths record:
·
Bukhari
(59:369) - This recounts the murder of Ka'b bin al-Ashraf, a Jewish poet who
wrote verses about Muslims that Muhammad found insulting. He asked his followers, 'Who will rid me of
this man?' and several volunteered.
al-Ashraf was stabbed to death while fighting for his life.
·
Bukhari
(4:241) - Those who mocked Muhammad at Mecca were killed after he had retaken
the city and asserted his authority.
Did Muhammed “bring forth justice to the nations?” Did his sexual
behavior suggest a man of justice? It doesn’t seem so. https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/pages/quran/muhammads-sex-life.aspx
provides (bulleted) commentary on this subject and the supporting surah from
the Quran:
·
Muhammad was married to thirteen women,
including eleven at one time. He relegated them to either consecutive days or
(according to some accounts) all in one night. He had sex with a 9-year-old
girl and married his adopted son's wife (after arranging a quick divorce). On
top of that, Muhammad had a multitude of slave girls and concubines with whom
he had sex - sometimes on the very days in which they watched their husbands
and fathers die at the hands of his army.
Quran (33:37) -
"But when Zaid had accomplished his want of her, We gave her to you [Muhammed]
as a wife, so that there should be no difficulty for the believers in respect
of the wives of their adopted sons, when they have accomplished their want of
them; and Allah's command shall be performed."
Quran (33:50) -
"O Prophet! surely We have made lawful to you your wives whom you have
given their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses out of those whom
Allah has given to you as prisoners of war, and the daughters of your paternal
uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your
maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who fled with you; and
a believing woman if she gave herself to the Prophet, if the Prophet desired to
marry her-- specially for you, not for the (rest of) believers; We know what We
have ordained for them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands
possess in order that no blame may attach to you; "
·
This is another special command that Muhammad
handed down to himself that allows virtually unlimited sex, divinely sanctioned
by Allah.
Quran (33:51) -
"You may put off whom you please of them, and you may take to you whom you
please, and whom you desire of those whom you had separated provisionally; no
blame attaches to you; this is most proper, so that their eyes may be cool and
they may not grieve, and that they should be pleased"
·
This is in reference to a situation in which
Muhammad's wives were grumbling about his preference for sleeping with a slave
girl (Mary the Copt) instead of them. Accordingly, Muhammad may sleep with
whichever wife (or slave) he wishes without having to hear the others
complain... as revealed in Allah's literal and perfect words to more than a
billion Muslims.
Quran (66:1-5) -
"O Prophet! Why do you ban (for yourself) that which Allah has made lawful
to you, seeking to please your wives?... Allah has already ordained for you,
the dissolution of your oaths "
·
Muhammad was caught sleeping with a slave woman
on the night that he was supposed to be with one of his wives. Initially
promising to be faithful, "Allah" tells his prophet to break that
promise and enjoy sex with his slaves.
Quran (4:24) -
"And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom
your right hands possess."
·
Allah even permitted Muhammad and his men to
have sex with married slaves, such as those captured in battle.
While Islam regards Jesus as their Prophet, they evidently
regard Muhammed to be above His teachings on multiple wives and divorce
(Matthew 19:4-6).
Continuing with Isaiah’s prophecy: Isaiah 42:2-4 He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,
or make it heard in the street; a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly
burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. He
will not grow faint or be discouraged till he has established justice in the
earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.
Apart from driving the money changers out of the Temple,
Jesus never resorted to violence or coercion and certainly not murder. Instead,
Muhammed’s Quran has preached violence, as never before, for the sake of world
conquest:
·
(8:37) “Make war on them until idolatry is no
more and Allah’s religion (Islam) reigns supreme,
·
(4:5) “When the Sacred Months are over, kill
those who ascribe partners [like Jesus] to God wheresoever ye find them; seize
them, encompass them, and ambush them; then if they repent and observe prayer
and pay the alms, let them go their way’.”
·
(2:191) “…kill the disbelievers wherever we find
them” and “murder them and treat them harshly” (9:123), and “Strike off the
heads of the disbelievers” (8:12, 8:60).
Muslim apologists explain to gullible infidels that these
verses only pertain to self-defense. However, the context will not permit such
an explanation. Instead, unprovoked Jihad and genocide has consistently been
associated with Muhammed’s teachings:
·
18,000 deadly terror attacks committed explicitly
in the name of Islam in just the last ten years. (Other religions combined for perhaps a dozen
or so).
·
Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, had people
killed for insulting him or for criticizing his religion. This included women. Muslims are told to
emulate the example of Muhammad.
·
Muhammad said in many places that he has been
"ordered by Allah to fight men until they testify that there is no god but
Allah and that Muhammad is his messenger."
In the last nine years of his life, he ordered no less than 65 military
campaigns to do exactly that. Muhammad inspired his men to war with the basest
of motives, using captured loot, sex and a gluttonous paradise as
incentives. He beheaded captives,
enslaved children and raped women captured in battle. Again, Muslims are told to emulate the
example of Muhammad. https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/pages/articles/10-reasons-not-peace.aspx
Instead, of bringing justice, Muhammed has brought
destruction and devastation, which continues today even upon Islamic lands.
Continuing with Isaiah’s prophecy:
Isaiah 42:6-7 “I am the
LORD; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep
you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for
the nations, to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the
prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness.
Instead, it seems that Muhammed has accomplished the very
opposite. He has closed both eyes and minds through threat, murder, and
deception. Even “friendship” has been made into a tool of deception:
·
Quran (3:27) “Let not the believers take the
disbelievers for friends rather than believers. And whoever does this has no
connection with Allah unless it is done [deceptively] to guard yourselves
against them, guarding carefully.
·
(5:54) O ye who believe, take not the Jews and
the Christians for your friends and protectors. They are but friends and
protectors to each other.
This comes from the following fatwa which quotes the Quran
in support (www.koranqa.com; fatwa 59879):
·
Undoubtedly the Muslim is obliged to hate the
enemies of Allaah and to disavow them, because this is the way of the
Messengers and their followers. Allaah says:
o
(Quran 60:4) “Indeed there has been an excellent
example for you in Ibraaheem (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to
their people: ‘Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides
Allaah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you,
hostility and hatred for ever until you believe in Allaah Alone’”
·
Based on this, it is not permissible for a
Muslim to feel any love in his heart towards the enemies of Allaah who are in
fact his enemies too. Allaah says:
o
(Quran 60:1) “O you who believe! Take not My
enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists) as friends,
showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to
you of the truth”
·
But if a Muslim treats them with kindness and
gentleness in the hope that they will become Muslim and will believe, there is
nothing wrong with that, because it comes under the heading of opening their
hearts to Islam. But if he despairs of them becoming Muslim, then he should
treat them accordingly.
In contrast, Jesus never taught the use of warfare or
deception to accomplish His mission. He didn’t need to. It was only the morally
perfect Jesus who could be given “as a covenant for the people” (Isaiah 42:6)
·
Isaiah 49:6-8 [God] says: “It is too light a
thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to
bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the
nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” Thus says
the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel and his Holy One, to one deeply despised,
abhorred by the nation [of Israel], the servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and
arise; princes, and they shall prostrate themselves; because of the LORD, who
is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.” Thus says the LORD:
“In a time of favor I have answered you; in a day of salvation I have helped
you; I will keep you and give you as a covenant to the people, to
establish the land, to apportion the desolate heritages.
How would He, “His Holy One,” open their eyes? By becoming a
new covenant with better promises, and this would require a blood offering,
Someone paying the atonement price, which God had often promised that He would
pay (Exodus 24:8; Hebrews 9:15-22; 13:20):
·
Ezekiel 16:62-63 “I will establish my covenant [sealed
in blood] with you, and you shall know that I am the LORD, that you may
remember and be confounded, and never open your mouth again because of your
shame, when I atone for you for all that you have done, declares the
Lord GOD.”
Jesus would lay His life down for the sins of the world –
something that Muhammed would never have dreamed of doing:
·
Isaiah 53:3-6 He was despised and rejected by
men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief [and not women]; and as one
from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely
he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten
by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was
crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us
peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the
iniquity of us all.
Against the claims of some Muslim apologists, Isaiah 42
could not have been about Muhammed but, rather, about the One who laid His life
down so that we might live.
Is there any evidence that the Quran came from Allah? None!
This helps to explain the desperate Islamic attempt to find some support in the
Bible.
