Most of us have been confronted with people who say, “There
is no scientific evidence to believe in miracles. You believe in miracles
simply because you want to.”
There are many problems with this attack:
·
Science cannot prove miracles because it can
only address repeatable events.
·
The skeptic has no basis to claim that we
believe in miracles simply because we want to. Many of us have experienced undeniable
miracles.
·
There are many evidences that miracles have occurred.
Besides these, even those who believe that there are natural
explanations must also believe in miracles to explain:
·
How something can come out of nothing.
·
How the universe is fine-tuned for us.
·
Consciousness and Freewill.
·
The existence of the “natural” laws of science
before there was even a “natural” to bring them into existence.
I put quotations marks
around “natural” because there does not exist even the slightest speck of
evidence that anything is natural – not the laws of science or the smallest
particles and atoms. Instead, all of these provide evidence of ID – that this
is God’s world.
