Let’s take one simple example – To reject God is also to
reject any coherent basis for a virtuous life. “Virtue” become denigrated to a
social construct to conform to the present evolving social standards. If virtue
is merely something we created, we eliminate any overriding reasons to submit
to it when enticed by more immediate desires.Besides, without God, virtue cannot be considered virtuous, but instead another form of self-help, something we do for emotional, psychological, and social benefits. It’s to play make-believe.
