Feminism has stripped women of their womanhood, demeaning
her traditional role and her gifting of bearing children, raising them, nurturing
the family, and caring for household matters. Now she is to be esteemed only
if she pursues a career and acts like a super-hero, for which she is at a
distinct disadvantage.
Similarly, the man is “toxic” if he is about masculinity.
Instead, he must adopt another role and become more like the woman -
compassionate and empathetic. He must share equally in the child rearing, where
he is at a disadvantage compared to the mother.
Just yesterday, a Christian man apologized for being “cold
and calculating,” suggesting that his worth depended upon learning to be more
compassionate.
While there is nothing wrong with learning to be more
compassionate, there is also nothing wrong with being cold and calculating.
Instead, it is likely that these qualities are also needed gifts.
Oddly, denigrating maleness and femaleness, denying their obvious
differences, has all been done in the name of “compassion.” Instead, compassion
helps others accept who they are and reality.
