I’m sorry to hear that you have not seen any evidence of
the supernatural. However, this had been the complaint of the Psalmists. They
were suffering and they didn’t receive any evidence that God was at work in
their lives. However, they also concluded that they had to wait patiently in
faith – the very thing that God expects from us all. Walking by faith and not
by sight is what we are called to do (2 Cor. 5:7)
You certainly are free to believe in naturalism. However,
please be aware that it is a very limited and unverified faith:
·
Even if you believe in evolution, there is no
evidence that a supernatural hand hadn’t been guiding it. In fact, this theory
isn’t able to explain hardly anything. Especially, it is clueless about the
beginning of life, the cell, DNA…
·
There is ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE that anything
has ever happened naturally without intelligence. While we all believe in the
causal laws of science and the scientific method, there is no evidence that
they came about and are sustained naturally. Instead, their very properties
argue in favor of design – their immutability; universality, and elegance. An
explosion (Big Bang) cannot account for any of this. Nor can it account for the
elegance of the universe and its incredibly fine-tuned nature.
·
Naturalism diminishes our existence, personhood,
and will inevitable such hope will dry up and lead to despair. Seen through
this lens, we are merely bio-chemical machines.
I can tell you about my many supernatural encounters, but I’d
prefer to suggest that you merely read the Bible with an open mind and in
prayer. Scripture guarantees that if we seek, we will find.
